Rangia SSB seizes illegal wood and saw machine near Indo-Bhutan border

RANGIA: Border Outpost Guiden Chowk of 24th Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal Rangia (Assam) and Forest Department Kumarikata conducted a joint operation on the Indo-Bhutan border on Monday. During this operation, an illegal saw machine, a generator set, and 44.20 Cft (approx) of wood (Gamari) were confiscated in village Kumarikata Bahbari, district Tamulpur (Assam) located in the Indo-Bhutan border, about 7.3 km from border pillar number 241/1. After the operation, the said saw machine, generator set, and wood were handed over to the Forest Department Kumarikata. 24th Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, Rangiya has been continuously carrying out such operations in discharge of its duty in guarding the Indo-Bhutan border and by regularly meeting with the local citizens, it has been encouraging them to inform the nearest SSB border outpost or battalion headquarters if they observe any criminal activity or illegal smuggling in the border area.
