Sahitya Akademi awardee Herendra Nath Borthakur passes away at Makum

TINSUKIA: The Sahitya Akademi awardee for children literature, Herendra Nath Borthakur breathed his last at his Makum residence on Friday evening. He was 80 and was suffering from prolonged terminal illness.

Author of several books, Borthakur's five books on children literature were released recently at his home. A progressive thinker, Borthakur retired from Senairam HS School in 2001. He leaves behind two sons and two daughters, his wife had predeceased him.
