SILCHAR: Heroin worth Rs 7 crore seized in joint operation in Cachar

SILCHAR: In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Assam Rifles, in coordination with Cachar police, carried out a successful joint operation in the district, resulting in the seizure of heroin valued at Rs 7 crore. Based on credible intelligence inputs regarding the movement of drugs in the district, a joint team of Assam Rifles and district police intercepted the individuals near Banskandi late in the night of March 31. Upon thorough checking, heroin consignments were recovered, and two individuals were apprehended on the spot.
