Six arrested for kidnapping minor in Kokrajhar district

KOKRAJHAR: Six persons including a Assam police homeguard were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a minor girl from remote Saralpara area under Bishmuri police post in Kokrajhar district on Friday. According to Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Prateek Vijay Thube, the six youths were trying to kidnap the minor girl in a Bolero vehicle. He said one of the youth identified as Mohd Farooq Abdullah of Dotma in Kokrajhar befriended the girl through Facebook identifying himself as a YouTuber and asked the girl to accompany him for a video shoot in nearby Salaralpara picnic spot.

The accused were on their way towards Kokrajhar when some local conscious citizens of Ultapani area caught them and handed them over to the police. The girl was rescued and all the six accused were arrested. The arrested persons were identified as Md Farooq Abdullah, Siddik Ali, Md Hasan Ali, Md Manjil Ali Mondal, Ajgor Ali Mondal,and Md Jahirul Mandol, all of Gharamara in Kokrajhar district.
