BOKAKHAT: A 10-day summer Bhaona workshop, organized by the Mohura Regional Agnigarh Artists’ Society under the Mohura Regional Palnaam Committee of Bokakhat subdivision, commenced on Sunday.
The workshop is being held in the premises of the newly-constructed Namghar at Hahchora-Bilotiya, Mohuramukh. It was formally inaugurated by Maheshwar Saikia, President of the Mohura Regional Agnigarh Artists’ Society.
In this workshop, children are being trained on various aspects of Bhaona such as acting and dialogue delivery. The chief instructors of the workshop are Prajnanpratim Baruah and Ridip Dutta, while the training team also includes Mrinaldeep Hazarika, Madhurya Saikia, Parthapratim Bhakatia, and Babu Nath, who are collectively training around 60 children.
The inaugural event was graced by the presence of Horen Saikia, Secretary of the Mohura Regional Palnaam Committee, Pawan Kaman of Mohuramukh Press Club, and others.
According to Nayanmoni Goswami, General Secretary, and Gaurav Hazarika, Secretary of the Mohura Regional Agnigarh Artists’ Society, the workshop will conclude with the staging of a Bhaona titled ‘Bhatritwa Vadhu’ (The Bride of Brotherhood) on August 9, performed by the participants.
