TINSUKIA: The Rotary Club of Tinsukia, RI District 3240 celebrated its Golden Jubilee Swarna in a befitting manner at Tinsukia amid the presence of district governor Dr Debashis Das besides several past district governors on Saturday. While ceremonial lamp was lit by Bolin Chetia, MLA of Sadiya and chairman of Assam Gas Company as chief guest, Dr Swaraj Bhattacharjee, president of Rotary Club of Tinsukia welcomed the guests that were followed by an elaborative presentation on the history and achievements of the club by Sailesh Sarma, the secretary of the golden jubilee year 2019-20. Bhaskar Pegu, Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, was also present as guest of honour. The event also witnessed recognition of 13 personalities who did exemplary works in different fields.
Samish Dalal, Associate Professor of SP Jain School of Global Management, Mumbai who was the key resource person in public interaction programme spoke on ‘Harnessing the potential of family business’ that kept the audience engrossed by his oratorical skills. More than 400 participants from different organisations and schools including members of Rotary Club of Tinsukia and neighbouring clubs attended the programme. A colourful cultural programme performed by the Rotary family under the supervision of Tuhina Bhattacharjee enthralled the audience.
Earlier in the morning a rally-walk for Rotary was flagged off by Bolin Chetia, MLA of Sadiya. Meanwhile, Dr Debashis Das District Governor visited Doomdooma on Friday. Besides interacting with the members of Doomdooma Rotary Club he visited Bapuji Adarsha Prathamik Vidyalaya located at harijan colony and donated a steel almirah besides other items.
