Thieves Loot Ornaments and Cash from Assistant Professor's House in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Thieves looted the valuable ornaments and cash from the house of an Assistant Professor of Kokrajhar Girl’s College at Joypur near Kokrajhar Police Station on Wednesday night.

 According to the family sources, Assistant Prof. of Kokrajhar Girl’s College- Julfikar Ali Talukdar, of Joypur went to his parent’s home at Simultapu, Srirampur in West Bengal border with his family and taking the chance , the thieves entered his house by breaking the grill of the verandah and stole away gold and other ornaments worth Rs. 1,50,000 and cash Rs. 30,000 from his house. Sources said the thieves took away the ornaments but left the laptop and other things. He came to know about the incident when the neighbouring family told him about the incident today. An FIR has been lodged at Kokrajhar PS on Thursday. A police team went to his house to ascertain the looting. Investigation is on.
