Three criminals apprehended by Tinsukia Police for burning 6 shops at Hijuguri

TINSUKIA: Tinsukia Police, after relentless pursuit, finally nabbed three criminals on Tuesday who was involved in burning six shops at Hijuguri near Tinsukia on the night of December 28 when Tinsukia was in turmoil in the midst of the anti-CAA agitation. They have been identified as Md Siddique Hussain of Hijuguri’s No 3 Captan Chuk, Azad Hussain and Amar Rao from Hijuguri.

The trio, taking advantage of lawlessness prevailing then, set ablaze six shops belonging to Bhadreswar Gogoi, Putul Sonowal, Girin Gohain and Chaitanya Nandi, including vegetable godown and hotel. Though firefighters and CRPF controlled the blaze, all the shops were completely gutted.
