HOWRAGHAT: Tuliram Ronghang, elected as MAC from the No 6 Bithung-Rengthama constituency of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), was re-elected as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC on Thursday for the third consecutive term.

Tuliram Ronghang was declared as Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC by Raju Tisso, chairman, KAAC, after Ronghang was elected as leader of the MAC's parliamentary committee in the Legislative Session House and he was felicitated with Karbi traditional Poho by the KAAC chairman.

Addressing the house, Tuliram Ronghang expressed his sincere gratitude to the chairman for conducting CEM election and thanked all the MACs for electing him as CEM for the third consecutive term. Besides, Ronghang expressed profound gratitude to the people of Karbi Anglong for supporting them.

He further said that the fulfillment of basic demands of Karbi Anglong have started step-by-step only because of the interest shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Himanta Biswa Sarma and other top national leaders. "We thank our dynamic Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for ensuring round-the-clock development in Karbi Anglong," KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang said.

While addressing the House, Ronghang urged all the MACs to work hard for the development of Karbi Anglong and to completely implement the basic issues of public which they had promised during the elections.

Pointing out the peace accord signed among five insurgent groups of Karbi Anglong and Central and State governments, Ronghang determinedly said that as assured by the Union Government and as well as the State Government, the 'Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) would be implemented step by step. "All the promises will be implemented one after another," the KAAC CEM said.
