Woman Brutally Murdered in Assam's Biswanath, Accused Attempts Suicide
GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly stabbed a woman to death at her residence in Hukajan village in Biswanath district.
According to reports, the accused identified as Karan Gurju stabbed a woman and later attempted suicide at the incident spot.
"Multiple injury marks on the body of the victim woman," informed the in-charge of the Itakhola Police Out Post.
Speaking to the media, Itakhola Police Out Post, in charge (IC), Shymal Neog said, "We were informed about the incident at the midnight hours. During the investigation, we found that one lady was brutally murdered at Hukajan village last night, while a man was found lying unconscious beside her body. On recovering the bodies, we found that the man was alive, and accordingly, we shifted him to Biswanath Civil Hospital for treatment."
On the other hand, Goreswar police arrested a person identified as Bibekananda Namadas of Ramgaon Village in Baksa district while he was beating his parents after drinking liquor on Wednesday afternoon. Witnessing this incident, his cousin Srinanda Das protested and tried to save Bibekananda's parents. At this, Bibekananda became very angry and ran towards Srinanda with a sharp weapon and beheaded Srinanda. A case is registered at the Goreswar Police Station.
