MOREH: Assam Rifles (AR) reaffirmed its commitment to the local population by providing comprehensive support for the successful conduct of the 59th Fire-Walking Festival in Moreh, Tengnoupal District, Manipur. Organized by the Tamil Sangam, the significant event commenced on March 23, 2026 and concluded on April 1, 2026 at the Shree Angala Parmeshwari Shree Muneeshwarar Temple. This time-honoured tradition, symbolizing faith, courage and resilience, drew widespread participation from Tamil, Meetei, Nepali and Bihari communities, as well as devotees from neighbouring Myanmar, transforming the temple into a vibrant hub of cultural and social harmony.

Upon the request of the Tamil Sangam, a contingent of officials and personnel ensured a safe and peaceful environment through robust security arrangements and essential logistical support for all rituals. A key highlight of the assistance was the organization of a langar which served approximately 450 to 500 devotees daily throughout the festival period. These efforts, complemented by community feasts organized by residents across various localities, reflected a collective resolve to restore peace and preserve regional traditions. This information was stated in a press release.
