Shillong: On December 30, one Hamborheini Dkhar (29) met with an accident when an ALTO 800 roll over and hit another vehicle) at Pommura around midnight. Dkhar sustained injuries and shifted to Civil hospital Shillong. On the same day Ajit Khongsit (32) was riding a scooty when he collided head on with a truck near Elephant Falls around 1.41am. The truck was on the wrong side of the road.
The victim suffered major injuries with suspected fracture of lower limb and dislocation of right ankle, first aid provided and shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. A woman, Rechoice Marwein (24) was hit by a scooty while walking by the road side at Golflink Shillong around 4.53am. She suffered minor injuries and was also shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.In a hit and run case one unknown person was hit by a vehicle, at 11th Mile Brynihat, Ri-Bhoi district around 5.33am.
The victim suffered multiple injuries on the head and was shifted immediately to GMC Guwahati. Krishna Thapa (28) was hit and run by an unknown vehicle and sustained minor injuries at Mawlai Mawiong around 8.11 am and was shifted to Shillong Civil hospital.
Also Drikshon Lynshing (58), Giftlan Dina (39), Pynbianglang Lyngshing (44) and Teiborlin Lyngshing (26) sustained Injuries as the Sumo they were travelling in got hit by a truck - head on at Mawblei around 9.28am. The Truck Driver was inebriated. They were shifted immediately to Civil Hospital Shillong. Meanwhile, on December 31, Joinlang L Nongum (24) who was driving a local taxi sustained injuries as the car loss control and went and hit a private Maruti Car in Kynshi Bangla around 5:50 pm and shifted to Mairang CHC. Others who were injured in the accident were Koplang Rani (22), Alfredson Lyngdoph Nonglait (27) and Jeinlang Lyngdoh Nongum (20) were referred and shifted to Nazareth/Woodland Hospital.
On the same day one Winstar Khylleit (33) was driving his Maruti car was hit by a running truck and fled away in Umeit at around 9:52 pm and sustained head Injuries. Ajibul Rehman (40) who was riding a bike was under the influence of alcohol went and hit an Alto Car that was parked near G Star Hotel in 13th mile, Ri-Bhoi district. Moreover, on January 1, Kongsi Marwet (38) met with an accident when the three wheeler (Auto Rickshaw) over turned. The victim was shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital. Marysha Ryntathiang (20) and Darihun Ryntathiang (10) met with an accident as the Swift Vehicle they were travelling over turned at Kreit around 9:12 pm, while trying to avoid collision with another vehicle which came from the opposite side. Both the victims were shifted to Civil Hospital. Also one B Pyngrope (24) sustained injuries as his Alto Car skidded at Umstew, East Khasi Hills district. The victim was shifted to Sohra CHC.
