70 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths registered in Meghalaya

Meghalaya on Monday registered 70 new COVID-19 cases and registered two deaths, one each in East Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills.

SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Monday registered 70 new COVID-19 cases and registered two deaths, one each in East Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills.

Meanwhile, the State also recorded 14 new recovered cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered cases has reached 83,369.

The tally of active cases has increased to 448, the Health Department said in a bulletin.

The total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection stands at 1,487 so far.

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of active cases with 371. West Khasi Hills has one active case, East Garo Hills also has one case, West Garo Hills has 45 cases, Ri-Bhoi has 15 cases, West Jaintia Hills has seven cases, East Jaintia Hills has three cases, South West Khasi Hills four cases, North Garo Hills one case.

There are no COVID-19 cases in South West Garo Hills.

The 70 new COVID-19 cases which have been detected are from East Khasi Hills (62), Ri-Bhoi (four), South West Khasi Hills (one), West Garo Hills (two) and West Khasi Hills (one).

The 14 recovered cases are from East Khasi Hills (11), Ri-Bhoi (one) and West Garo Hills (two).
