BSF, CRPF conducted cleanliness drive in Shillong

Shillong: In the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada, the BSF Meghalaya Frontier conducted a mass cleanliness drive on Saturday. The cleanliness drive was led by Kuldeep Saini, Inspector General, Frontier HQ BSF along with 400 BSF personnel’s from frontier HQ Meghalaya and 30 Bn BSF. The team undertook an intensive cleanliness work on the approach road to BSF campus Umpling, surrounding area to the main BSF gate and the area of Nongmynsong and Teen Pathar in Meghalaya.

During the campaign, the BSF carried out an extensive cleaning and awareness drive at BSF campuses, public places as well as residential areas.

Saini said that the drive has not only ensured general cleanliness in the area but also increased awareness among the masses.

On the other hand, IGP, North East Sector Headquarter based at Stoney Heaven, Bishop Cotton Road and 67 Bn CRPF based at Polo Ground, Shillong conducted a “Swachhata Campaign” at Golf Links area of Shillong on Saturday morning.

Prakash D, IGP NES CRPF HQ , Sunit Varshney, Commandant (CCD), Ravi Ranjan, Second-in-Command, TP Singh, DC, Dr Utpal Gogoi, SMO, Sujit Jha, AC, along with other officers, subordinate officers & other ranks of 67 Bn CRPF and North Eastern Sector HQ CRPF participated in the campaign.

Teachers and students of Higher Secondary School, Pynthormukhrah, Golf Links, Budha Vidya Niketan Secondary School and Gandhi Buniadi Secondary School Shillong also participated in this swachhata campaign.
