SHILLONG: Jaintia Students' Union (JSU) general secretary Treibor R Suchen has accused Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma of evading the issue of Inner Line Permit (ILP) which the people have been demanding for the past many years for immediate implementation in the State.

"The Chief Minister is trying to avoid the issue of ILP and to take up the matter with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi when he visits the State next year as chief guest during the celebration of 50 years of statehood," Suchen said. He said that till date as there was no law or machanism to check influx flowing into the state, many outsiders are still managing to ply their business in Jaintia hills and thousands of them are getting their trading license issued from Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).

Suchen further questioned as to where the future lies for the younger generation when all the work and business are being captured by outsiders.
