SHILLONG: The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) resounding victory in Delhi after 27 years sparked celebrations across the country, including in Meghalaya, where party workers rejoiced with bursting crackers and chanting slogans of triumph.

State BJP General Secretary Wankitbok Pohshna attributed the win to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and vision. "People of Delhi elected BJP looking at the good works of Narendra Modi ji led the country. I hope the dream of Viksit Bharat now will be materializing in Delhi," he stated.

When asked about the party's prospects in Meghalaya, Pohshna expressed optimism. "We hope for the best, that's why we are here to celebrate and tell the people of Meghalaya it is now the time to look up to the party. We will ensure to bring good governance, which the party ensures as usual," he asserted.

Regarding the impact on the state's district councils, he added, "Naturally, it will help. It has already boosted the morale of the karyakartas."
