SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, who also chairs the regional committee on West Jaintia Hills, on Monday instructed the panel to complete and submit its final report within one month. “I have asked them within one month to submit the report,” Dhar told reporters.

He informed that the committee will first hold discussions with its Assam counterpart before finalising the report. “As soon as they finish, the final regional committee report will be submitted and both the states will take a call on the issue,” he said.

Responding to queries on the delay, Dhar cited the case of Baikham village near Ratacherra as the primary reason.
