Meghalaya police issued lookout notice for missing patient from Shillong Civil Hospital

SHILLONG: Meghalaya police have issued a lookout notice to all police stations in the State as well as the region for a person who went missing from the Shillong Civil Hospital. After complaining of fever and dry cough for two days, he was brought to Shillong Civil Hospital by 108 Ambulance on April 2. This 20-year-old resident of Jhalupara here was advised by the hospital authorities for throat swab for COVID-19.

According to police, the person has a travel history from Nepal. According to police, the person was also in contact with a friend who came from Delhi. “Both travelled together from Guwahati to Shillong, but he refused to give details of his friend. “The person was given symptomatic treatment and was admitted in an observation room of Civil Hospital, Shillong. But on April 3, the patient was found absconding from the hospital,” police said. It may be mentioned that till Sunday evening, no COVID-19 case has been recorded in M’laya.
