Meghalaya Political Parties Prepare Reply on CAB

Shillong: Political parties of Meghalaya are in unison against the proposed amendment of the CAB by the Centre. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma held a meeting with the political parties of the State to elicit their views on the basis of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) directive. The MHA has solicited the views of the political parties on the reason that they staunchly opposed the proposed legislation.

Making it clear that his government along with the other political parties will oppose the CAB, Sangma said, “We are clear that the views, as sought by the Union Minister of Home, will be iterated”.

“The Union MHA has sought on what are the reasons for your opposition. They asked us what is the reason for the opposition. We have all the stakeholders views and it will be handed before the ministry concerned”, stated the Chief Minister while igniting a stand that CAB will never be accepted by Meghalaya and the North-east.
