SHILLONG: The number of Covid-19 cases in the state is declining with the number of recoveries outnumbering the new ones in recent days.

According to health authorities, on Friday, the state recorded 94 recoveries and 59 new infections. The state also recorded two more deaths of which one was not vaccinated, taking the total deaths to 1443.

With the latest figures, the number of active cases in the state has come down below 700 and stands at 698 as of Friday.

The state also now has 81128 recovered cases.

Of the 59 new cases 45 were recorded in East Khasi Hills district, West Jaintia Hills district and West Khasi Hills district recorded four cases each, Ri-Bhoi district three cases, West Garo Hills district two and South West Khasi Hills district one. The district wise distribution of active cases East Khasi Hills district 454, West Khasi Hills district 135, West Jaintia Hills district 44, Ri-Bhoi district 33, West Garo Hills district 15, South West Khasi Hills district five, South West Garo Hills district four, East Jaintia Hills district three, East Garo Hills district and North Garo Hills two cases each and South Garo Hills district one.
