MLA Sanbor Shullai of South Shillong Constituency Inspects Progress of Work In The Area

SHILLONG: Sanbor Shullai, MLA South Shillong constituency, along with with the residents of entire Rilbong, Kench’s Trace and New Kench’s Trace Area, conducted a meeting-cum-inspection of the implementation work of local area development scheme in the area on Saturday. The implementation of local area development scheme, was initiated and recommended by Sanbor Shullai.

During the meeting, the MLA inspected various localities under 19th South Shillong constituency accompanied by members of Dorbar Shnong, members of Seng Kynthei, local NGOs, officials of PWD, PHE, Municipal Board, MePDCL, Police and Traffic Police including members of the Monitoring-cum-Implementation Committee (MCIC), South Shillong. During the inspection, various local issues like regular collection of garbage, non-functioning of street lights, regulation of roadside parking and allotment of ‘No-Parking zones’ were discussed. Officials of various departments assured the MLA and other public representative of extending their full co-operation.

MCIC secretary A Marwein informed that Shullai at the end of the inspection announced that an amount of Rs. 31,00,000 under SUWP scheme 2018-19 and 2019-20 was earmarked to implement various kinds of developmental activities for the interest and welfare of the general public of Rilbong, Kench’s Trace and the New Kench’s Trace areas.
