Multiple Petrol Bomb Attacks Target NPP Office and Police in Shillong

Petrol bombs target NPP office and other locations in Shillong, while a suspected police motorcycle is torched; no casualties reported.

SHILLONG: Two petrol bombs were thrown at the National People's Party (NPP) office in Lower Lachumiere early Friday, though no damage was reported. East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed the incident. In a separate attempt, a petrol bomb was thrown in Madanrting but hit electrical wires instead of its target. Additionally, a motorcycle suspected to belong to the police was set on fire along the roadside in Malki.

Syiem stated, "Madanrting PS early morning but hit the wires and Police Bike burnt in Malki." A case has been registered for the Malki incident, and an investigation is underway.

These incidents occurred less than 24 hours after a petrol bomb attack at the Nongmensong Police Outpost around 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, which damaged the building's wall and furniture. No casualties were reported in any of the incidents.
