National Science Day at the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development

SHILLONG: The National Science Day with the theme “Science for People and People for Science” was celebrated on Thursday at the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) in Upper Shillong, Meghalaya. The programme was attended by a large number of school students and teachers. The scientists and scholars of IBSD led the scientific interactions and also gave the students a tour of the R&D facilities of IBSD. The National Science Day is celebrated every year in India on February 28 to mark the Nobel Prize winning discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by physicist Sir CV Raman in 1928.
