SHILLONG: The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Sangathan, Meghalaya conducted a state-level Declamation Contest on 'Patriotism and Nation Building' at the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides Conference Hall here on Friday, as part of Republic Day 2022 celebrations. Out of seven NYK Districts only four NYK Districts participated in the Contest, namely East Khasi Hills represented by Ibakordor Khriemmujat, West Khasi Hills represented by Suzane L Nonglait, West Jaintia Hills represented by Lakyntiewshisha Tang and Ri-Bhoi represented by Melita Maring.
All contestants presented wonderful speeches on the topic which was judged by three experts from different departments. Lakyntiewshisha Tang secured the 1st Position, Ibakordor Khriemmujat secured the 2nd Position and Melita Maring secured the 3rd Position. The winner of this contest will represent the State in the National Level Declamation Contest to be held in January before Republic Day.
