Poshan Maah Launched in West Garo Hills

TURA, Sept 2: The District Program Officer, West Garo Hills, in convergence with the line departments, launched the Poshan Maah, 2022, with the theme 'Triggering Poshan Panchayats for Poshan Maah' at a function held at Upper Matchakolgre, Tura on Thursday where a large number of parents, Anganwadi workers and others participated.

The chief guest of the day, Dr Priya Sengse Sangma, while talking at length on nutrition, urged the mothers to select nutritious foods and the vegetables rich in vitamins to stay away from vitamin deficiency diseases. The District Program Officer, ICDS (Cell), Chonseng D Arengh, while speaking about Rashtriya Poshan Maah, sought the cooperation of the parents and community leaders to improve the Anganwadi centres.

The CDPO, Urban, VD Sangma, while delivering the welcome address, highlighted the aims and objectives of Poshan Maah and Poshan Abhiyan. The other highlights of the day included cooking demonstration of fortified food items and growth monitoring of children and pregnant mothers, stated a press release.
