SHILLONG: RN Ravi was administered the oath of secrecy as the Governor of Meghalaya by Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court Mohd Rafique in a short function held at the Raj Bhawan here on Tuesday. Ravi will be holding the additional charge of Meghalaya besides Nagaland.

The swearing in ceremony of RN Ravi was attended by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, his cabinet colleagues, State Government officials and the top brass of the armed forces. Soon after his swearing in ceremony, RN Ravi left Shillong via helicopter.

Interestingly, Tathagata Roy who suddenly went on leave tweeted “some people are hearing wild rumours. This is just to reassure them that I’ll be back”. Roy, a known supporter of the CAB (now CAA) had tweeted a couple narratives even to the extent of saying that those who believe in divisive democracy should go to North Korea.

His point of view through the digital platform did not go down well with political parties and pressure groups in Meghalaya. Roy’s sudden departure ignited a sense of relief to political parties and pressure groups, but his latest tweet is expected to raise another hullabaloo.
