SHILLONG: A local court in Shillong has granted bail to two co-accused in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Assistant Public Prosecutor Tushar Chanda confirmed that Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwar have been granted bail. This development follows the court’s decision on July 2 to remand another co-accused, Silome James from Indore, to 14-day judicial custody. James is accused of tampering with evidence in the suspected murder of Indore-based tourist Raja Raghuvanshi, who was allegedly killed by his wife, Sonam, in Sohra on May 23. The defence counsel for James is expected to file a bail application during the next hearing. When contacted, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed the nature of the charge, stating, “Yes, it is a bailable offence.”
