South Shillong constituency MLA Sanbor Shullai announces schemes

SHILLONG: MLA Sanbor Shullai along with the members of MCIC 19th South Shillong Constituency commenced the constituency tour programme on Saturday, for implementation of various State Government Developmental Plan Schemes (Second phase). The schemes amounting to Rs. 8,23,29,000 are to be implemented within the constituency.

The sanctioned schemes are: Construction of an organic market-cum-community hall at Kenches Trace Road, Bishnupur: Rs 2,29,90,000; construction of a working women hostel-cum-public auditorium at Rilbong: Rs 4,50,39,000; construction including MBT of the existing PWD Road from the main entrance of Sanker Dev College at Kenches Trace Road, Bishnupur: Rs 1,43,00,000.

The programme-cum-inspection tour started from the Sanker Dev College campus. The team toured various parts of Kenches Trace, Bishnupur and Rilbong areas. The MLA was accompanied by members of Dorbar Shnong Bishnupur-Kenches Trace; Dorbar Shnong of Kenches Trace, Oxford Hill and Rilbong area; the Principal and members of Sanker Dev College Governing body; the president and members of Srimantha Sanker Dev Cultural Centre and officials of the PWD Shillong Central Division, Urban affairs Department, Shillong Municipal Board, MePDCL, Social Welfare, Police Traffic Branch.

Based on a complaint lodged by the residents of 19th South Constituency, MLA Sanbor Shullai directed the MePDCL official to regularly check the street lights and also reduce the frequent power cuts.

The MLA also directed the official from the Police Traffic Department to check illegal parking of vehicles to avoid congestion and to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Shullai expressed his sincere thanks to the officials of various department, Dorbar Shnongs, and the general public especially the landowners for their help and support.
