SHILLONG: The National Peoples Party (NPP) State president, Dr. W.R. Kharlukhi on Sunday said the party will take action against Nidamon Chullet once it is proven of him being guilty and that he is involved in the case and convicted by the law.

It may be mentioned that Nidamon Chullet who is the National People’s party (NPP) leader from East Jaintia Hills was alleged of being involved in the attack on women rights and RTI activist Agnes Kharshiing and her colleague Amita Sangma.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Kharlukhi said, “If he (Nidamon) is found to be guilty and involved in this incident then he will ultimately be kick out of the party.”

He said that at present the party has not decided on this matter but if Nidamon is found guilty he will be removed from the party.

When asked on the demand of Amita and Kong Agnes for a CBI inquiry, he said, “Even the education scam which is being probe by the CBI for the past few years has not made much progress hence I have faith in a judicial inquiry.”

“When it comes to justice it’s only the judiciary which we can trust to give us the justice we want as it is also independent,” he said.
