Assam Rifle seized foreign-origin cigarettes in Chhungtein, Mizoram

AIZAWL: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), seized 82 cases of foreign-origin cigarettes in Chhungtein, Mizoram on Tuesday, stated a press release.

The operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles and Customs department, Champhai based on specific information, stated a press release. The approximate cost of the seized foreign-origin cigarettes is Rs 1,06,60,000. The seized items were handed over to Customs Preventive Force Champhai for further legal proceedings.
