

AIZAWL: The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on 'Blood Donation' at the Tuipang Community Hall on Friday, which was attended by a total of 47 youth, women, children and village elders of the village.
According to a press release, the aim of the lecture was to raise awareness of the need for safe blood for transfusion and highlight the contribution that voluntary/unpaid blood donors make to the national health sector. These donors save millions of lives and improve the health and quality of life of many patients every day. The need for blood is universal, but access to blood for all those who need it is not universal.
Blood shortage is particularly acute in developing countries. The benefits of blood donation to the human body and precautions to be taken before donating were also explained to the local residents. The locals of Tuipang village expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by Assam Rifles.
