Assam Rifles conducts COVID awareness drive at Laki village

AIZWAL: Lunglei Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles/Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) organized a COVID-19 awareness drive at Laki village on Friday.

The aim of the drive was to create awareness among the local population about the prevailing COVID-19 situation and was conducted by Foxtrot Company of Lunglei Battalion Assam Rifles. During the conduct, a special emphasis was put on certain COVID-19 protocols such as ensuring social distancing, regular washing of hands, use of masks and avoiding social gathering. A need to stay at home was also stressed upon by the troops of Assam Rifles. The drive mainly focused upon precautionary measures and DO's & DONT's during COVID-19 pandemic to avoid any loss of life due to the virus.

The awareness drive was attended by 23 villagers of Laki including Village Chief and Village Council Members, stated a release.
