Assam Rifles recover foreign-origin cigarettes worth Rs 3.38 crore in Mizoram

MIZORAM: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Assam Rifles, along with representatives of Police Department , Hnahthial recovered 260 Cases of Foreign origin cigarettes worth ? 3.38 Crore (Rupees Three Crores Thirty-Eight Lakhs) from General Area Tuichang Bridge, Lawngtlai district on 20 Jan 2025. In the operation one person, resident of Champhai was also arrested. The entire consignment has been handed over to Police Department, Hnahthial for further legal proceedings, stated a press release.
