Assam Rifles recovers 259 gm heroin in Mizoram

AIZAWL: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered 259 gm heroin in general area Tyaokawn in Mizoram on Sunday.

The operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles and Customs department Champhai based on specific information. The approximate cost of the recovered heroin is Rs. 1,03,60,000. The recovered heroin was handed over to the Customs Department Champhai for further legal proceedings, stated a press release.
