Assam Rifles to launch anti-drugs campaign in Mizoram

AIZAWL: The DIG Assam Rifles (AR), Brigadier Digvijay Singh met the Chief Minister of MIzoram Zoramthanga on Thursday, and informed him that the Assam rifles is planning to start the New year with an 'Anti Drug Campaign' all over Mizoram.

He also reassured the CM that the AR will continue to strive for overall development of the State and the Northeast and also maintain peace and prosperity in the region.

The campaign is aimed in educating and enabling the Mizo youths to reject illicit drugs and encourage occasional users to discontinue its use.

The CM lauded the initiative and expressed his gratitude for the same. Such initiatives by Assam rifles will go a long way in nourishing the relationship with the State administration, stated a release.
