Foreign cigarettes seized in Mizoram

AIZAWL: The Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) and Customs Department, Zokhawthar recovered 93 cases of foreign-origin smuggled cigarettes with approximate value of Rs 1,20,90,000 in the local market on Monday.

The joint surveillance team detected the cigarettes found near the General Area of Zokhawthar Village. The illegal consignment was seized and handed over to Custom Department, Zokhawthar for further legal proceedings. The Department seized the contraband item, stated a release.
