Awareness drive against drug abuse and trafficking in Mizoram

AIZAWL: With the theme of promoting the thought that a Healthy Mind and Body is the bedrock of prospering society, Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) conducted an awareness campaign on International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Serchhip, all Company Operating Bases and Platoon Operating Bases on June 26.

This was aimed to raise awareness amongst the people about the danger of drug

abuse especially among the youths. At Serchhip, the event was led by the Medical Officer of the Battalion in which he informed the local public about the risks of consuming drugs and also making an effort to free people from this harmful addiction, combat misinformation in the local language and were also requested to follow the COVID appropriate behaviours. He explained about the addiction and side effects of mental and physical health, stated a release.
