Foreign-origin cigarettes worth lakhs seized in Champai district

A total of 75 cases of foreign-origin cigarettes were recovered with an approximate market value of Rs. 97.50 Lakh

AIZAWL: A total of 75 cases of foreign-origin cigarettes were recovered with an approximate market value of Rs. 97.50 Lakh during an operation in the TlangsamXg area of Champhai district in Mizoram on August 31.

The recovered items were handed over to Custom Preventive Force, Champhai for further investigations & prosecution. The operation was launched by the Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles/ Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East), stated a release.
