
AIZAWL: The Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), on December 23, organized the 14th Rozgar Mela in Aizawl, Mizoram, where 126 candidates were handed appointment letters. The letters were distributed for prestigious roles across the Assam Rifles (78), Department of Posts (11), SSB (1), ITBP (2), Railway (1), and MZU (33), marking a significant step toward employment empowerment and regional development.
The occasion was graced by Professor S.P. Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and Panchayati Raj, who personally distributed appointment letters to the candidates. His presence reaffirmed the government’s resolve to harness the potential of the youth for nation-building.
The ceremony was attended by Brigadier Girish Upadhya, Deputy Inspector General, Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles, alongside senior officials from other paramilitary forces, including the ITBP and SSB.
All three battalions under Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles conducted pre-recruitment training for a total of 210 candidates in Aizawl, 23 candidates in Serchhip, and 52 candidates in Lunglei. Of these, 38 individuals cleared both the physical and written exams, and 32 individuals made it to the merit list for SSC (GD) recruitment.
The highest number of successful candidates came from those who received pre-recruitment training at the 2AR ground, which, in the truest sense, served as a launchpad for providing golden career opportunities to those eager to harness their potential through resolve and hard work.
