Mizoram Police Wins Trophy At All India Police Badminton Championship 2022-23

AIZAWL: At the All-India Police Badminton Championship 2022–23, Mizoram Police successfully took the second place.The competition was held in Chandigarh from February 20 to 24, 2023.

For Mizoram, they managed to achieve the medal and trophy while CRPF bagged the first position. At the All India Police Badminton Championship, 410 players from all around the nation competed, including 150 women.

The following categories were won by the Mizoram Police:

1). HC (Opr) Lalmuanawma, HC (Opr) Samuel Lalnunmawia, Const. Lalawmpuia, and Const. Johny Lalhlimpuia won the team championship in silver.

2. Men's Double-Gazetted Officers (Gold): C. Lalruatkima, MPS, and Lalzahawma, DDA.

3. ASI (Ftr) Lalthanzuala & Hav. R. Lalmuankima, 50+ Open Double -- GOLD

SILVER: SI.K. Lalmachhuana, MPS, and Zosangliana

4. ASI(Ftr) Lalthanzuala, 50+ Men Single -- GOLD

In the same competition, Arunachal ASP Dekio Gumja won the men's [gazetted officer] open singles competition. Gumja won the gold medal after defeating CRPF's Virendra Vikram Singh in a battle of 2-1 sets.

Three medals in all have been earned by the Arunachal Pradesh Police in the competition.

On Saturday, DSPs Kalom Pait and Nyumyom Sora of the men's 50+ category and ASI Monya Riba of the men's singles 45+ category both won bronze medals. In total, 515 shuttlers, representing 24 states, four UTs, and eight CPOs, competed in the event.

With 17 medals, the CRPF team won the championship. Mizoram came in second place with 10 medals.

The "15th All India Police Badminton Championship 2022–23" concluded with much fanfare at Tiranga Park in Sector-17, Chandigarh. The event's chief guest was Sh. Parmod Kumar Agrawal, IPS, Director General of Police, Haryana.

As guests of honour, Sh. A.S. Chawla, A/DGP of Haryana, and Sh. Bidhu Shekhar, IPS, Joint Director of the IB in Chandigarh, attended the event. 

37 teams of competitors marched through while being accompanied by the Chandigarh Police Band's melodic symphonies, which also provided the background music for the event.
