AIZAWL: In the thriving recapitulation of youth empowerment and to widen the career prospects for the youth of Mizoram and align them with the nationalist theme Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles/ Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) conducted a pre-recruitment cadre for young boys and girls of Mizoram with effect from February 3 to April 18 at Battalion Headquarters, Aizawl. As a continuation of the cadre, the Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted an online assessment and comprehensive counselling session for all the participants of the pre-recruitment Cadre on June 4.

This online effort was undertaken by the Assam Rifles with the primary aim of keeping the young aspirants for Uniformed Forces prepared for the subject Competitive examination and the secondary aim of keeping the future of Mizoram motivated amidst the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the State.

Aizawl Battalion has taken up this massive initiative to assist the youth of the State in overall upliftment and for providing them with opportunities and assistance for joining the forces and serve the nation as proud and disciplined soldiers. Assam Rifles, being the sentinels of the North East, has always been active and supportive to the youth of Mizoram especially in incorporating a sense of nationalism in their young & productive minds. The online program has been conceptualized to be conducted regularly to assess the preparation of the aspirants for various Examination of Uniformed Forces including Army and Paramilitary Forces and also to guide them on the preparation issues.

The online programme was highly subscribed by the young girls and boys of Mizoram with the participation strength of three girls and 217 boys. The instructional staff will subsequently speak to each participant and discuss their performance in detail for making them adequately prepared. More such online initiatives will follow to keep the spark among these young girls and boys live, stated a release.
