Weapon Seized from Chhinga Vengthar; 1 held in Mizoram

AIZAWL: In yet another success in the crusade against smuggling activities, an Ishapore MK-III .303 Rifle was seized from the area of Chhinga Vengthar in the capital city of Mizoram on May 9. One person has been arrested in this regard.

The operation was carried out based on confirmed intelligence inputs about warlike stores in the area.

It was carried out by a joint team of the Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), and Mizoram Police.

The apprehended individual was later handed over to the Aizawl Police Station, stated a press release.
