
SILIGURI: In a notable advancement for healthcare support, the ‘Ama ko Goad’ Su-swasthya Niwas, a rental health-logistic facility, was officially inaugurated in Champasari, Siliguri. This three-storey building is designed to assist patients from Sikkim who are undergoing treatment in local hospitals, offering them a comfortable and well-equipped place to stay.
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang highlighted the fact that it is operated by the Gareeb Jankalyan Prakoshtha (GJKP) and reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing the citizens with all the support required while undergoing medical treatment outside their residence. "This scheme is expected to ease the burden of the patients and their families by providing a safe and comforting environment," stated the Chief Minister.
In the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister recognized the work of the medical team and GJKP personnel, attributing the vision of the project to Chief Patron Prabhakar Golay. He stressed the significance of their efforts in bringing the facility into existence. Future expansion and development plans for the facility were also mentioned, pointing to the government's continued interest in improving healthcare access for Sikkim's people.
The function was attended by Prabhakar Golay, GJKP management, staff, officers, dignitaries, patients, and family members, indicating a major boost to healthcare aid for the district and guaranteeing that residents would have greater accessibility to necessary healthcare services.
