Sikkim: Massive Fire Erupts At Garment Shop In Rangpo

GANGTOK: A serious fire accident occurred today at a clothes shop in Mandi Bazaar, Rangpo, Sikkim, leaving behind a scene of complete chaos among the local shopkeepers and customers. The fire broke out early in the morning, creating immediate alarm and panic in the packed market complex.

Local authorities, including the firefighters, were quick to respond to the inferno, with the Rangpo police and other locals assisting. Their quick response was extremely crucial in dousing the fire and preventing it from spreading to adjacent shops and buildings. The firefighters did an excellent job to extinguish the flames, and their interventions helped to tackle the situation quite well.

A similar incident also occurred in Kayakuchi market in Assam's Barpeta late night on 3rd April, destroying many shops and causing heavy financial losses. The inferno started at around 2:45 AM and spread rapidly through the market, engulfing stores of clothes, shoes, medicines, and groceries. Initial estimates indicate that the total worth of lost goods may be several crores of rupees.

Emergency personnel reacted quickly, sending firefighters who toiled for hours to extinguish the blaze. Although they were able to put out the fire, it had already done a great deal of damage before being finally put out. The origin of the fire is still unknown, and local officials have launched an investigation into the events leading up to this accident.
