Guwahati: Sikkim Police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man from Bihar's Chapra district for allegedly killing his girlfriend in a hotel in Gangtok in December last year.

According to reports, the accused Kumar Gyaneshwar Singh was on the run for a month after murdering his 26-year-old girlfriend and brought him to Gangtok on Tuesday night.

The arrest was carried out with the support of Bihar police.

Gyaneshwar Singh along with his girl friend had visited to Gangtok and checked in to a hotel. On the same night, after consuming alcohol both of them had a fight as the accused was having multiple other love affairs.

During the fight, the accused is said to have kicked the woman in her abdomen.

The next morning when he woke up, he found his girlfriend lying dead nest to him following which he ran away and had been absconding since then.
