A delegation from Assam Cricket Association, led by its president Romen Dutta, today met Principal of Arya Vidyapeeth College Dr.Pradip Kumar Bhattacharyya in the city and extended him the proposal to develop the renowned institution's playground for the further advancement of the game of Cricket.

Cricket body gets additional plot at Barsapara

GUWAHATI: A delegation from Assam Cricket Association, led by its president Romen Dutta, today met Principal of Arya Vidyapeeth College Dr.Pradip Kumar Bhattacharyya in the city and extended him the proposal to develop the renowned institution's playground for the further advancement of the game of Cricket.

As per the proposal, Assam Cricket Association intends to build cricket infrastructure at the Arya Vidyapeeth College's playground for the benefit of its students as well as budding players living nearby.

The College authorities said that they would soon respond to the farsighted proposal after due deliberation and discussion.

It must be mentioned here that Assam Cricket Association has recently undertaken several cricket infrastructure development projects across the State with the broader objective of producing quality players.

Apart from the president the other officials of the Assam Cricket Association who were the part of the delegation were secretary Devajit Saikia and vice president Porikshit Dutta.

Meanwhile Assam Cricket Association extends its gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Bimal Borah and Revenue Minister Jogen Mohan for allocating about 9 bighas of land located adjacent to ACA Stadium, Barsapara to Assam Cricket Association. This additional plot of land will give a huge boost to the existing cricket infrastructure at ACA Stadium, Barsapara and will be effectively utilized by Assam Cricket Association for making extensive and well-planned parking arrangements during international matches as well as other wide-ranging cricket related activities.
