GUWAHATI, Aug 30: Former international swimmer Elvis Ali Hazarika will swim North Channel in the third week of September. A flag off ceremony was held at the RG Baruah sports complex here today to give send off to the swimmer. The event was attended by Elvis Ali Hazarika along with the secretary of the Assam Olympic Association Lakhya Konwar and several other officials of the association. Elvis will attempt the North Channel as a part of his preparation for the English Channel expedition which he will attempt next year.
