GUWAHATI: Assam Senior Men’s Cricket Team concluded its international exposure tour in Windhoek, Namibia with a commanding win on Sunday in the final match of the five-match One Day Series. Assam put on an impressive all-round display to defeat Namibia by 65 runs.
Batting first, the visitors posted a formidable total of 325/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Skipper Denish Das led from the front with a well-made 73, supported by solid half-centuries from Sumit Ghadigaonkar (78) and Saahil Jain (75).
In reply, Namibia was bundled out for 260 in 46.3 overs. Assam’s bowlers did well to defend the target, with Akash Sengupta and Darshan Rajbangshi picking up three wickets apiece.
The five-match series ended 3-2 in favour of Namibia, with Assam winning two matches during the tour. Despite the series loss, the tour proved valuable for the Assam side, offering key learning experiences and exposure to international conditions.
Rishav Das was adjudged Best Batter of the Series for his consistent and impactful performances throughout the tour.
The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) extended its heartfelt thanks to Cricket Namibia for their warm hospitality and for organizing a competitive and enriching series.
ACA President Taranga Gogoi said, “This international tour has been a significant step in shaping the development of our players and preparing them for greater challenges on the global cricketing stage.”
