GUWAHATI: Assam Secretariat Cricket Club lifted Guwahati Office Premier League-2024 title defeating Central Warehousing Corporation by 9 wickets in the final held at the Nehru Stadium on Sunday. Central Warehousing Corporation, elected to bat, scored 171 in 20 overs. Kushagra Manas played an outstanding innings of 98 runs with 8 sixes and 7 fours. In reply, Assam Secretariat Cricket Club chased down the target in 16 overs with the help of Parthiv Kashyap Sharma’s 88 and Hiranya Hazarika’s 64 runs knocks.
The best batter and bowler trophy of the tournament was awarded to Parthiv Kashyap Sharma and Nilim Jyoti Gogoi of Assam Secretariat and Kushagra Manas from Central warehousing corporation adjudged as the player of the meet.
Kailash Karthik, Secretary, Public Health and Engineering Department, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. In a brief speech he appreciated the efforts of the Assam Secretariat Cricket Club and urged the organizers to host the tournament in the future as well. The other dignitaries present on this occasion were Indrani Laskar, Joint Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Chandan Kakati, Deputy Secretary, General Administration Department, Bicky Mesh, Chief Manager SBI, Abhishek Anand, Regional Manager, Central Warehousing Corporation and others.
