Brahmaputra Boys lift ACA T-20 Challengers Trophy

GUWAHATI: Brahmaputra Boys emerged champion in the ACA T-20 Challengers Trophy defeating Kaziranga Heroes by 24 runs in the final held at the ACA stadium here today.

Elected to bat, Brahmaputra Boys scored 141/7 in their allotted 20 overs.  Saurav Mousum Dihingia played a solid knock of 59 runs from 54 balls.  Abhilash Gogoi (33) and Ronit Akhter (27) also contributed with the bat. Dibakar Johori (2/21) and Bhargab Pratim Lahkar (2/30) took two wickets each.

In reply, Kaziranga Heroes were restricted to 117/9 in their 20 overs. Hrishikesh Tamuli was the top scorer for the Kaziranga Heroes with 45 runs off 46 balls. Abhilash Gogoi came out with impressive figure of 3/13 with the ball. Abdul Ajij Kuraishi and Raj Agarwal claimed two wickets each.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Secretary Tridib Konwar, Vice President Rajdeep Oja, Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh, Treasurer Chiranjit Langthasa and other officials of the organization.
